REST IN RECORDS released a new three track Single/EP “Music Born from the Croaking of Frogs: Japanese Tree Frog – Hyla japonica” by “Born From Nature Sounds” on March 8, 2024, on all digital platforms! This is the first release by the music unit “Born From Nature Sounds”, which explores 100% pure, naturally derived music, with all instruments created solely from nature sounds.
“Born From Nature Sounds” is a music unit in which creative manipulators transform the precious nature sounds of “Hideo Ueda,” a pioneer of natural sound recording and a leading field recording artist in Japan, into musical instruments using out-of-the-box thinking, bold approaches, and the latest technology, etc.
Rather than simply mixing music and natural sounds, all of the tones of the instruments that make up the music themselves are independently generated from natural sounds. As a result, the DNA of the original sound is definitely alive even in tones that sound completely different to you.
This is the first release, and all instruments are generated from field-recorded “Japanese tree frog” calls, resulting in music that is 100% purely derived from nature sounds.
Key settings based on the original sound, wavetable synthesis for tonalization of unimaginable natural sounds, creative beat making by sampling and slicing, and even overtones and noise components are extracted and utilized musically. Inspiration-driven creative sound design including modulation, filters, resonance, granular fx, formants, pitch shifting, and more. In contrast to these experimental and alternative efforts, the music produced is cool and suitable for Chill Out Music, Instrumental Lo-Fi Hip-Hop, Lounge, Deep House, mellow groove, cafe background music, and other playlists.
